I don’t know why I do this to myself.
Every time I pull out this film, I am reminded why I freaking hate 3D movies.
The film itself is actually really good. The story is entertaining and action-packed. It stays true to the world of Dredd in the comics, it’s well-written… Do I need to go on?
The world of Dredd is entertaining as heck to watch. It’s a terrible dystopian future that reminds me I could live somewhere WAY worse. The over-the-top acting and the futuristic vehicles are hilarious – kind of like watching the original Robocop. It’s terrible… but great?
The whole reason this film annoys me is because of the 3D stuff they put in. It’s… too much. It ruins the film if you aren’t watching it in 3D – which I don’t… because it makes me feel like I’m going to vomit. No 3D for me.
But … I get it – it was 2012 and 3D films were all the rage. So they put 3D in… and it just… ruined it.
Do you think we will ever get another Dredd movie? But like a good one? I don’t know…
