Hear me out….
Keanu Reeves makes the John Wick series. He really does. I don’t know if it’s his slightly wooden delivery or the fact he is just genuinely a nice human being… but I don’t know if these movies can be made with anyone else in the role.
While there are loads really talented people who star in it – Lance Reddick for one – it’s Keanu that makes the series so entertaining to watch.
I enjoy watching Ian McShane and Donnie Yen… but is there someone that could do John Wick as good as Keanu? No. I don’t think so.
I’ve seen every single John Wick and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every single one. I’ve enjoyed the music selections, and even found some new artists to listen to thanks to the series. The films make great movie nights (or days!) and you are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t see them.
However… they aren’t perfect.
I’ll give you an example… In John Wick 3, they came up with this incredibly cool and unique suit that was bulletproof. Amazing.
It was insightful and allowed for closer quarters action. The action felt harder. More difficult to overcome than the last two movies. It really made the third film – and I’m so glad they came up with it because seriously… *chef’s kiss*
This time though… literally everyone was wearing one.
And it took away from the amazing concept that it was. The original tailor should have died after making only a few… it would have helped the movie SO much.

But I digress… as with all John Wick movies, the body count is high, so expect to see lots of action. The film seems to be one giant fight. There are little reprieves from the action which is … a little disappointing. It honestly feels like this is the last one and that makes me sad.
Do I think it’s over? Honestly, No.
How many Pirates of the Caribbean are there now? How many Fast & Furious movies?
I’d be down for more John Wick movies. Just ease up on the bulletproof suits. Please.
